Welcome to “Okay-ish”: A space to reflect on the realness of infertility.

Hi, my name is Nina! I’m a wife, a therapist, a surrogacy expert, and a proud dog mom to the cutest Frenchie on the planet, Kol. Trust me, he will make several appearances here—because who doesn’t love a little Frenchie flair in the midst of a serious topic? I’m a Pacific Northwest girl by birth, a coffee lover, and non-toxic enthusiast in training.

But enough about my caffeine habits and canine cuteness—let’s dive into the heart of why I’m here. I’m an IVF warrior, an infertility survivor, and a momma in waiting. Our journey began four years ago, and in that time, we’ve faced seven losses, including one ectopic pregnancy, one blighted ovum, two failed IUIs, and three failed frozen embryo transfers. Oh, and did I mention we moved from California to Washington, bought a house, and got married during this whirlwind? I guess you could say we thrive in chaos—who needs a calm life, right?

Through this blog, my goal is to share our story and connect with others navigating similar circumstances. I want to also provide education on perinatal mental health and infertility, what does it mean and who does it impact. More importantly, I aim to create a community. I know how isolating this journey can feel, and I’ve often found myself scrolling through social media at 2 a.m., searching for answers to questions like, “What are 3dpt symptoms?” or “Will I ever have a baby?” Spoiler alert: I still don’t have all the answers, but I do know that you are not alone.

And for those of you who have not experienced infertility, you are absolutely welcome here! You are our biggest supporters, our prayer warriors, and your presence matters immensely. If you’re just here to read our story, that’s cool too! Infertility can be stigmatizing and isolating, and the more I can share, the more I hope you can learn how to better communicate with and support those around you who are walking through this journey. Together, we can break down barriers and foster understanding.

This space is meant to be a landing ground for those seeking solace, mixed with a sprinkle of humor. After all, how else do we navigate the cruelness of infertility? Life can be tough, but laughter can be our best medicine.

Every Saturday, I’ll be sharing the details of our journey, and I hope it brings you comfort, inspiration, and perhaps a few laughs along the way. Let’s lean on each other, encourage each other, and hold hope for where we are on our paths because there’s no stronger, more supportive group than those who have walked this road.

I look forward to meeting you, sharing our stories, and creating a community where we can all feel a little more understood and a lot less alone. Welcome to this journey together!
